| The 2004 vintage started with an average spring and near perfect flowering. Cool and dry conditions in summer contributed to one of the latest harvests on record. Fruit was picked at optimal ripeness with excellent varietal definition, generous flavour and fine balance. Intense plum in colour with purple tinges. The nose has a complex array of ripe fruit and oak maturation aromas. Dark berry, dusty mulberry, black olive and spicy plum characters with chocolate and elegant cedar oak tones. Generous fruit and mid palate structure. Ripe berries, dusty mulberries and an earthiness have smoothly integrated with a light vanillin, chocolate and cedar tones from oak maturation. The stylish palate is elegantly balanced with soft and finely grained tannins and a long flavorful finish. | |||
